The pilot light is a small gas light meant to burn continuously in order to light a larger burner when needed, but it may go out if a draft extinguishes the light, its valve is dirty, or the thermocouple (the safety device that shuts off gas to the appliance when it detects no pilot light) is faulty. If your home’s gas-powered appliances are older than a decade or so, the problem might be as simple as a pilot light that’s gone out-and that’s something any homeowner can handle on their own. Operation, such as an empty boiling (forgotten) pot, significantly higher temperatures of more than 500☌ can be reached.While all of these annoyances might cast a damper on your morning, there’s no need to call a repair person just yet.

However, temperatures of up to 350☌ can be reached under the pot, depending on the food and cooking process. The cooktop underneath remains relatively cool. If the pot or pan is removed, heat production is immediately paused. With an induction cooktop, the heat is generated exclusively in the base of the pot. And that you also place them in the middle of the cooking zone. You should ensure that your pots and pans correspond as precisely as possible to the diameter of the respective cooking zone. However, there are also many variables: The specific temperatures depend on which stove you are using, how long you have been cooking, how high you have set the temperature, and also on the cookware used. The surrounding area, as well as work surfaces and furniture, remain relatively cool. Only the areas above the heating elements, the cooking zones, are heated. The transparency of the glass-ceramic as well as its electrical properties enable the use of displays and touch switches (touch control) in state-of-the-art cooktops. The operation of the cooktop is also important. The smooth surface of glass-ceramic makes it particularly easy to clean. Radiant heating: The glass-ceramic surface developed by SCHOTT transfers the heat generated by the radiator beneath the cooking surface to the bottom of the cookware.
